If you have always wanted to check out scuba without committing to a whole weekend of training this is the class for you. This is a great experience for people without the 3 days to dedicate to a full certification class. Many of our DSD students enjoy it so much they plan their next visit around getting Openwater certified! We typically run these classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday but we are pretty flexible and can set something up with 48 HR notice.

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.  Certified OW Divers can dive with a dive buddy, acquire air fills, rent/purchase scuba equipment, and explore depths near 100 feet.

The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur.  Be trained and current for First Aid and CPR within the previous two years. Ask your instructor about Emergency First Response CPR and First Aid courses.

Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite certification for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.

The Boy Scouts of America worked in tandem with PADI to launch the Scuba Diving merit badge. Since then, the popularityof scuba diving is growing exponentially among the scouts. Much like scouting, the overall philosophy of scuba encourages the quest for adventure. It is a life changing experience that enables young men and women to embrace challenges in a whole new way. WRDC is a proud supporter of the Blazing Trails Disctict and Ozark Trails Council to help Scouts in our area experience the adventure of learning to breathe under water.
